Casa Alba

This stunning medieval home is set on the slopes of Monte Lovesco, it has breathtaking view of the Upper Tiber Valley and the mountains surrounding the towns of Umbertide to the West and Gubbio to the East. 

Above the house is a beautiful swimming pool with under-water lighting, jets and surrounded by lush, irrigated grass, offering almost total seclusion.

The whole property has wifi broadband internet access, including La Capanna, La Cantina, the swimming pool and the garden. 

The British owners live on site in the main house  (a retired vet and nurse ) and they have a large array of animals including cats, dogs, ducks, goats and even hedgehogs. While the 2 properties are separate from the main house, guests may get the occasional visit from one of the animals and they will be offered fresh eggs from the chickens. This is a wonderful property for animal loving guests and any children will love having such a large array of animals to visit, including the goats. 

The owners are very happy to help you with any questions you have about the property and local area. Each rental is provided with a welcome pack of wine, water, soft drinks, tea and coffee to allow guests to relax immediately on arrival.

The owners also have a number of vintage cars and will be more than happy to take you on tours of the area and arrange airport pickups. 

The nearest town is Umbertide, which offers all general services and is an excellent centre for guests requirements. There are many good restaurants in this area, offering a wide range of delicious country cooking at reasonable prices.

La Capanna (sleeps 4)

La Capanna is a cottage set across a small courtyard from the main house. It is completely self-contained and has its own entrance, giving total privacy. There is fabulous terrace with table and chairs, overlooking an amazing view. 

The double doors entrance leads directly into the living room, which has comfortable chairs and a sofa and a dining table seating 4. This room has a lovely open fire as its focal point and there is a tv, video player, dvd and cassette player.

Leading from the sitting room are 2 double bedrooms, one of which can be set up with 2 single beds if required. The separate bathroom is fully tiled, with a shower, WC, bidet and washbasin.

The newly refurbished kitchen has a fridge, cooker, microwave, juicer and toaster with plenty of work and storage space.

This property is fully central heated making it suitable for use all year round.

There is a washing machine in a separate building, which is provided for the exclusive use of the guests. The walled patio with its brick barbeque is totally isolated from the main house and courtyard.  

La Cantina (sleeps 4)

This spacious apartment occupies the ground floor of the main house. The furnishings are of a high quality and reflect the owners English origins and also Italian home, while the oak beams and terracotta floors reflect the age of the building.

La Cantina has its own entrance beneath a wisteria clad pergola offering plenty of shaded seating with a small patio and a brick built barbeque. The views from this patio are stunning and you will be happy to spend many house relaxing and looking out over the hills. 

The entrance door leads into a large kitchen / dining area, fully equipped with fridge, cooker, toaster, juicer and plenty of cooking utensils, storage and workspace. The dining table is make of antique oak and has ample seating space for 8 people.

Adjacent and to the left of the kitchen is a large living room with a sofa, easy chairs, antique furniture and a cosy wood-burning stove, making it suitable for use all year round. There is satelite television, dvd and video player, cd and tape deck. 

There are 2 double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, one of which can be set up with twin beds. There is room for an additional single bed if required. 

The whole property is private and separate from La Capanna and the owners and there is shared use of the laundry facilities with La Capanna only.
